Should I sell my baseball cards on ebay or post them on craigslist first?

I have 1000+ baseball cards. Anyway I am going to break them down into a few sets and sell them on ebay. I've got one set of Topps 2000 excluding inserts, plus doubles and thirds and fourths equal in number to that set (when combined, so they don't make a whole set) Then I've got other manufacturers plus a few inserts. That is unimportant. I want to sell them on either ebay or craigslist. but i don't intend to post them both at the same time because I would not want to have it sell on ebay after I promise it to somebody on craiglist. Mainly I want to go to the place it will make the most money, so which should I put it on first, ebay or craigslist.

Craigslist is free and it will be a good way to gauge peoples feeling on your cards.  Run it on Craigslist, if you get a good offer that you are happy with, sell it.  If not, then at least you have some kind of the price people are willing to pay and then you can move to Ebay and see how it goes.

i think you should sell it on hunden because my friend sold about 600 hundren and got about 30 dollars no kidding

I don't know much about baseball cards but I would put it on ebay just because they would get more exposure and more possible buyers.

You can set a reserve price on ebay to make sure you get the $$$ you want for them. If nobody meets the auction reserve then I would try selling them on craigslist.

I can tell you from my own experience, that most card lots do not bring much money. Ebay takes a rather large cut of the selling price, while Craigslist is free.

So,I'd try Craigslist first, then ebay second if they don't sell.

Just be realistic and check closed auctions for a comparative price.
