Question:

Should I sell my maternity clothes?

My husband thinks I should hold onto my maternity clothes and I think I should sell them to buy new things I need. We aren't planning on another baby for another 4 years and who knows what time of year I'll be pregnant then? (this stuff is mainly fall-spring and some summer). Is it better to just hang on to my old clothes for my next pregnancy or sell what I have to get the new things I need (pants, winter jacket, shirts...)

I am getting some birthday money this week and shopping with that, but I know it won't be near enough for what I need. Plus my son will need a few more things too.

  1. I think if I were you I would hold on to them- remember how expensive they were? But if you think you should sell everything, I would try and hold on to staple pieces.

  2. If I were you I would sell most and keep a couple of your favorites pieces. I know that's what I will be doing.

  3. I say, save some, sell some.  Save some really cute ones you like. sell ones you can do without.  That way, it's win, win.  Good luck

  4. I'd sell it!  Chances are if you're pregnant 4 years from now you won't want to wear the stuff you have.  Maybe you could keep some basic stuff but I'd get rid of the rest.

  5. If you are in true need of money sell it.But, there are many teens out their who are pregnant and need maternity clothes so you could donate them.Or you could keep some of them and sell/donate the rest.

    Cute baby :]

    Best of luck :]

  6. Thats up to you, I didnt think i was ever going to have another baby but my daughter will be 3 this year and im due with her little brother in 2 weeks, I just dont new ones, what i needed any ways since most of them were to big for me, if money is tight i would sell them and get what you need since they are not in use, but maybe keep the smaller sizes so you have something is you end up getting pregnant before you think, Good luck hope everything works out

  7. Sell them, you won't need them for a while and like you said you don't know what time of year or anything it will be. Get what you need now if you get pregnant sooner then expected then you could always buy maternity clothes used from stores like once upon a child, don't hold on to things you don't think you will use for a long time. I went as far as to get rid of my sons, clothes and bassinet that he out grew as soon as I could, more for the room then for the money but for what ever the reason, you will get more money for them now then if you wait a year or 2 then decide to get rid of them, because of style and season and things like that.

  8. It's your call.  Personally, I'm saving mine because it will save money later when we do go for our second.  Maternity clothes can be expensive and I think it's best to probably hold on to what you've got.

  9. Yea you should

  10. get rid of them in 4 years theyll  be out of fashion go get some stuff  for youre self and the bub.))) dnt listten to hubby what do they know:))

  11. I held on to mine and thankfully I did because I knew that we would have more babies later on. So instead of getting rid of the maternity clothes I hung on to them and haven't had to buy any since. Looking at the price of maternity clothes now I'm so glad I did.

  12. If you can sell them than do so. If you really want them out then give them to you local church. There is no need to save them. Its just something you have store for awhile and it worth not having to

My cousin after trying to conceive for 4 years gave her maternity clothes away one january.

She found out she was pregnant 3 weeks later... Irony at its best!
