Should I sell my star wars Lego's?

I have 7 Clone scout walkers and a ARC-Starfighter

and none of these sets are sold anymore!

And so I am asking if I should sell them right now or wait for a couple years? because I dont know since no more movies are coming out if the value of star wars legos will decrease.

What should I do if I want to make the most profit?

  1. i would wait and see for a couple of more years. they could really be worthh something.

  2. I'd say sell now, or wait 10+ years.  2 years isn't enough time to see a major price jump, considering it's already been out of production for 2+ years.  You probably won't see much change in price between now and another 2 years.

First off, you're talking about non-classic Star Wars sets.  They're from the new trilogy, which will most likely not be very valuable in years to come, unless you wait something like 15+ years rather than 2 years.  Even then, that's depending on the kids of today having money to burn on nostalgic items in 10-20 years from now when they grow up.  You look at the valuable Lego sets now, and they're from the 1980's and 1990's.  Stuff from 2000 onward really isn't high in value, with the exception of a few scant items.

The discontinued original trilogy Star Wars sets are an exception.  The original Millenium Falcon, Ultimate Collector's sets, etc.  They're worth some money now, even though they came out in 2000 or later.  Mostly because the 30-something crowd that grew up with Lego and Star Wars has money to burn, and isn't interested in the new trilogy.  And maybe in another 10-20 years the new trilogy stuff will similarly be high in value-- and maybe not.

Right now, the Scout walker (which was a surprisingly popular set in particular) is selling for about $13 used, and $20 new on BrickLink (from its original MSRP of $10), which is pretty consistent for the last 6 months.  The ARC 170 is worth about $50 used, and $65 new (original MSRP $40).  And a quick search on Ebay for the scout walker yields similar (yet more erratic) results, but I haven't checked the ARC starfighter.

Anyway, I'd probably guess that you're not going to see a dramatic increase in price in the next couple years.  If there's a change in price that's major in any way, it'll probably happen in 10+ years, which has other factors like inflation and such going into it.
