  1. In so many cultures, they always have something to feed the guests. I think in this day and age a beverage should be fine when it is hot  and when it is cold. the trouble with just in case  we get tempted and end up with unwanted calories. I have made double batches of chocolate cookies froze them in little balls and had it where it wasn't a problem to pop a dozen in the oven.

  2. maybe something light like cheese and crackers and maybe a veggie tray.

  3. Always offer food to company.  Cheese and crackers and a veggie platter is pretty easy

  4. You could bake a cake and have coffee or tea with it.

  5. If I knew you were coming I'd have baked a cake....

  6. Umm make sure you have at least water available....

    maybe some juices or soda!

i would just have like a fruit tray, veggie tray, chips and dip, just simple finger foods that are easy to clean up after!

    Nothing too special!

  7. As a southerner and Italian i cant imagine not feeding my guest something. Finger sandwiches at the very least.

Coffee and coffee cake as well.

never have company and not have anything to offer them that you have put some heart and thought into.

  8. I would have coffee and water and maybe a soft drink like soda or lemonade. If you want, put bowls of snack mixes and nuts around and maybe a tray of fruit or veg or both. These can be incidental bowls and trays, tucked away from the main area.

In the "old days" when I was a kid (back in the 60s), people always had nuts or snack mix around to grab, as well as maybe a candy dish with hard or mixed candies. This was just a little courtesy set out for family and guests...it was a welcoming type of thing! In this day of food phobias, we don't do that unless we are going to have a party.

Good luck...I hope you have a good time!

  9. bread and cheese spread.

  10. maybe some drinks and a couple easy appetizers.

  11. just have sum snacks like chips and salsa.cheesesticks.pigs in a blanket.cheese dip.puch.ya know.

  12. Veggie Tray, Chips and Salsa, Shrimp Cocktail.  Keep it simple and small.  It's not at a meal time.
