Should I shave my body for my highschool swim team?

I kinda want to shave my body for the swim team but do not know if it is absolutly nesasary?

i dont swim but my friend does and he said he could feel a difference after he shaved his arms and legs...i wouldnt know how much though

Shave and then just before your event, lightly wipe your skin with the finest grit sandpaper you can find.  You'll swear there was electricity in the water.  If your time doesn't decrease, it will at least feel like you were flying underwater.

I would. I am a recreational swimmer and haven't timed the difference, but will say it feels a lot faster.

It really depends on you. If you wear a jammer or a long suit, I would say that it's not absolutely neccessary. But if you're wearing a brief, shaving can help you swim much faster. It'll feel like you're skimming on the water. So go ahead and shave if your life really depends on swimming. If not, then I'm not sure. Go ahead, it won't hurt.

i swam throughout high school and nmoticed a huge difference after shaving my entire body.  There is nothing like the feeling of gliding into the pool after the complete shave

My swim team doesn't allow swimmers to swim after they've shaved. It's really up to you even though shaving does make some improvement to how fast you go.

If you are very hairy, you should, because otherwise, you will have too much drag.  If not, dont. Only shave the parts that are not covered by your speedo.
