Question:

Should I sign off the title of a dirtbike?

a couple years ago, I broke up with my ex-girlfriend. When i moved out, I took my atv and my sons dirtbike. I left a dirtbike there for her son to ride since he loved it so much. She called me today and said that she sold it and needs me to sign off the title. I made her house payments for over a year ($1000 / month) and I didn't get any thing when I left other than my stuff. I feel like telling her that I want the money she got for the bike or I'm not signing off! She can't legally sell it without my consent right? I live in PA.....anything I could do legally?

  1. I wouldn't sign either.

Just because you lent it doesn't mean she can sell it.

Why don't you ask her to borrow her car one day?

The alternative is to take it out in trade.

  2. She can sell the bike if you left it there. After 30 days she can get a new title it is very  hard getting one for abandonment. You gave the bike to her son it realy belongs to him. Good luck.

  3. It is your bike and loaned it to them bike and no, she should not profit from the sale of the MC.

  4. I'd say on principle, refuse to sign. You left the bike in good faith for the kid to ride. If he's done with it, it should be yours to do with what you want.  I don't think you'd be being spiteful, you're just refusing to let her by with underhanded behavior. Who knows, might even be an example for the kids, yours and hers.

  5. right! she can't sell it if your name is on the title

call the police and explain it to them, make sure the police officer files your complaint and put it on record

have that complaint on record if she forges your signature on the title, then you can have her arrested

  6. Legally, the bike is yours.

Practically, how much can it be worth by now?

Is the 'spite credit' worth it?

It's over, ... let it go.

  7. if your name is on the title, she cant legally sell it
