Question:

Should I sit next to the smart kid in class?

I'm in 11th grade. I am advanced in math/science. The math and science classes that I am taking this year are:

Pre-Calculus (That's advanced for my school)

AP Physics

Ok, so I don't know any of the kids in those classes. I end up sitting alone and across from me, there's this 10TH GRADER. He's in my AP Physics class and Pre-Calculus class. Everyone says he's really smart and like a genius.

The 10th grader sits alone in both classes. Since I'm having trouble in both classes do you think I should sit by him?

Do you think he would be able to help me out? I'm kind of intimidated by him.

There are other kids who sit alone, but do you think it would be best to sit by him?

  1. I'll say ofcourse don't go sitting by him if you want to cheat. Other than that if you just want help still don't go over and sit right next to him. Why? Well ( base off the information you mention, like he's inteimidating, and someone else mention he might just want to be alone)  just because you sit next to him doesnt mean he is going to help. First maybe you should approach him and ask for help on a problem, and if he seems nice then maybe it wouldn't be a bad ideal to sit next to him and start getting help ( after you try the problem's yourself.)

  2. Sit next to him, and make friends. He'll probably help you out in the long run. Definitely ask for help from him, but don't cheat off him. He'll probably be glad for the friend and won't mind helping you out -- that's what friends are for. Just don't expect him to give you all the answers.

  3. Don't sit next to him to cheat, but it doesn't sound like that was your plan.  Sit next to him, introduce yourself, try to make friends.  If he's sitting by himself, he's probably lonely but intimidated by the older kids.  He'll probably be glad to make a friend in the class, and then maybe he can help you out on homework.

  4. well ya you should because you can ask him to help you and be his friend but dont cheat off him

  5. i say sit next to him.

  6. no, especially if your dumb, if your smart go ahead, but smart kids dont want to be bothered, they want to focus on their work, harsh but true
