I have Skied like 6 times in my life and I am 13. I am a good skiier/ intermediate skiing blues to sometimes easy mogules. I want to try to snow board next winter at Beaver Creek, CO. But i'm not sure if I would be wasting my time snowboarding if its going to be to difficult to switch over. How different is it to snowboard than to ski?

  1. Snowboard its like smoking. ITS WHAT ALL THE COOL KIDS DO. hahaha

  2. Snowboard... its a lot of fun and after 1-3 days you pick it up really easy. It's also a lot easier to snowboard in powder and do boxes than it is when you're skiing

  3. Snowboarding is much easier. Why not try it and if you dont like it go back to skiing.

  4. SKI !!!! i LOVE skiing !! i am 13 ... everyone thinks skiing is for old ppl but i know like tons of ppl from like ages 11-19 that ski and LOVE it !! and its easier to learn !!

  5. Try both.  Do the one you like, or do both.

My opinion, and the opinion of everyone else here, is useless.  Do what you enjoy.

  6. skii, snowboard is more 4 guys and its hard!

  7. Snowboarding , Its way more fun! and get lessons.  its really not that hard, but lessons will make it more fun. I guarantee you will love it!

  8. snowboarding is way better but it deffinatly will suck at first but once you get the hang of it it is so much better then skiing for sure

AND "blake from springs" you are an idoit the kids who smoke think their cool but everyone else thinks they are idiots

  9. You could try it out if they rent snowboards. Then decide if you like the feel of skiing or boarding more.

  10. it is 70 degees in denver right now..... LOL I have snow on my mind sometimes too my friend. I ski usually. I can board but I am better at skiing really. it isnt that difficult to switich back and forth between the two really....

  11. its different, i'd say more difficult to progress faster. i.e. skiing can take someone 3 days to get to lvl 3, but with snowboarding you may just get of learner slope.

    but still lots of fun.

  12. def snowboard.both my kids snowboard and love it

  13. Do both! Have fun!!

  14. Learn to ski...then snowboard.

So, yeah you should try to board next time.

Its good getting a feel of both of them.

Skiing is pretty much on a par with snowboarding for difficulty.

I mean to get really good at skiing. But snowboarding is harder to get started.

  15. snowboard baby!!

  16. def snowboard i switched over from skiing a few years ago and snowboardings a h**l of alot funner.  it somewhat hard the first time but once you get the hang of it its awesome

  17. Snowboarding is 100% completely different than skiing.  Why don't you rent a snowboard and take a lesson?  Then you'll know.  If you don't take a lesson, it might discourage you, but atleast this way you'll get a feel for it and you'll know for sure what you want to do!

    Have fun next winter!

  18. That's exactly what I did. I learned to ski, but then got bored and tried boarding. SO much more fun! It'll take a little to learn, but well worth it. Besides, you live in CO, so you'll have plenty of time all next season. Can't wait for next season!
