Should I stage my home or just leave it empty?

Hello there... I am at the point where I am "almost" ready to get a "for sale" sign in front of my home. I just need to finish painting a couple rooms.

My question is... should I stage my home (meaning leaving my furniture in the house for potential buyers to see the function of each room)...

or should I just move everything out, and sell it empty?

I have been reading about staging homes... and I see that the staging professionals, of course, recommend staging... thing is... I do not really have a lot of nice furniture to stage my home with. Some pieces are okay though. Also, most of my rooms are very small, so putting any of my huge furniture in just makes the rooms look even smaller. Also, there is a home ready for me to move into, and I would like to move on with my life, and move my things out of here. It is very tempting just to move everything out, leaving just empty rooms, with maybe just my sheer white curtains on the windows.

Staging is usually best, but if you're in a particularly active market (which would be rare under current circumstances) you may not need to.  I would go with your Realtor's recommendations.

Staging helps buyers to envision the home better and to get a better feel for the size.

Staged homes generally sell faster for more money than empty homes.

A stager can rent furniture to put in the home.

I would just sell it empty though.

I know when we were still looking for a house, I prefered to see homes that were completely empty b/c then I can see everything. I didn't have to wonder if the seller was trying to hide something w/ furniture.

Be more concerned with curb appeal (cut lawn, flowers, clean sidewalks, driveways). If you do stage, don't use any huge pieces. What does your agent say?
