Should I start James Shields for his start today

No because James Shields isn't a great pitcher.

You should start him against the Mariners, a weak hitting team. I have him too in my fantasy team and I'm starting him today. But, always bench him if the Rays have him start on the road against good teams or at hitters' ballparks because he does not fare well in those situations.
