  1. well  ---  you should respect your parents wishes..  as i am sure they love you and have reasons...

explain to them why you want to box.  :)

you would spar with people your own size.  you know.  :)

if it is something that is super important to you -- take the time to explain it to them in a respectful manner - ander never helps.  :)

  2. Well if you "  REALLY " want to start boxing, then you should try it. Your never going to know if you like something unless you try it, are you ?

I can't guarantee you will like it though. Not many girls do. It's physically and mentally hard work which requires a lot of commitment, especially when you progress.

I'm 15 and I box. My brother got me into it.

Why don't your family want you to do it ?

  3. Find a boxing instructor (trainer), and have him sit down with your family and explain to your family both the benefits and risks of boxing.  He will know how to explain the safety issues so your family can better understand that you are relatively safe while you are boxing.

Most parents are fearful of their children boxing because they do not understand the training process, and they think that their 13/14 y/o boy or girl will get crushed like a mexican fighting pac-man, but that is simply not the case.

Haveing a trainer do it for you will do three things:

    1. Your parents will understand the risks and benefits of boxing better

    2. They will know that you are serious about wanting to box and not just talking c**p

    3. They will have somebody they can respect and trust (the trainer) showing you how to box.

    Best of luck

  4. punch yourself in the face girls don't need to fight thay need to cook clean and love there  man and if you decide to box whop your old mans *** if he is not home on time

  5. go in what you beleive in, proove to them your responsible and that your dedicated to it

  6. Just don't get in the ring; reassure them of that and they should be okay with it, I think they're scared you are gonna get mauled or something.  And its true, boxing is a dangerous sport; since safety seems to be the issue, then, just don't get in the ring, just train, polish and spar, and that's it.  Not everyone who has taken up boxing has gone on to compete you know, and no coach will force you to, even if you're good.

I personally sparred against a lightning fast Korean American dude, whose hands were so fast that even seeing him spar against another guy, sometimes you couldn't see them.  He stood at about 5'5, and weighed around, I think, maybe, 120 lbs he was a scrounge, but boy could he scrap.  Slippery as h**l, lightning fast and devilishly smart; one of the reasons I quit for the summer, was because the coach could not stop bitching about that kind not wanting to fight professionally.  Well he was a kid back then, but not now, this was way back in 2002.

Even though he was good, he was quick, and he even gave the bigger guys a hard time, he chose instead to finish college.  Trust me, he could have made a very comfortable living as a prize fighter; again, slippery as h**l, lightning fast, and devilishly clever.  Not to mention power disproportionate to his height and weight.  Through and through, the dude was a fighter, he was born for the sport but instead he chose, again, to finish his computer science degree.

    Hope that helps.
