Question:

Should I start college in spring or wait til fall for best chances?

This fall is my last semester at a community college where I am getting my associates, then transferring to a public 4 year school. I live in NJ and am a business major.

The schools I am looking at don't accept business majors in the spring, so I would have to either:

a) go somewhere I don't plan on staying at then transfer to my first pick in the fall

b) wait around and live at home, maybe work or something

c) is there any way I can just do an internship or something, but one where I don't have to drive anywhere, perhaps study abroad? Is it possible to just go a school and sign up for a study abroad program or internship where I don't live at home?

I am looking at a SUNY, if I start at somewhere like Montclair in NJ would it just make things messy and hard for me to transfer smoothly? (more trouble than it's worth)

  1. Check with the school. I'm certain there are classes outside the business department that you could take during the spring semester. You could also get admitted to the university, do an internship for credit, and then apply to the business program.

  2. The sooner you start...the sooner you finish. Right now your mind is in the study/learning mode..keep it going.
