Question:

Should I steal back my bike?

About 2 months ago someone stole my old bike that was locked to a bike rack in front of my apartment building. I didn't mind so much because I had just purchased a new bike and was trying to decide what to do with the old one. But then today I saw in front of someone else's apartment and they had "pimped it out" by turning the handle bars upside down! It's still sitting out there, unlocked. I'm sure it's mine, it was unusual Walmart brand, it has my light and and u-lock holder on it. Sure I could just steal it back, but that's too easy! I want to teach them a creative lesson of some sort, but I haven't decided what that should be yet. The people who live in that apartment are on the local college football team, if this helps anyone with any ideas.

Should I just steal the bike back and leave a nasty note? Tell the apartment managment? I know the police won't care, but I could figure out their names and tell the football coach (who would probably just laugh along with them about).

  1. take the bike back..but remember that appartment number..and just mess with them for a couple of months..like leave notes , put stuff on their door, pretty much make them wanna move out

  2. No don't take it back but super glue on the seat or tacks so when they sit their nasty butts down it hurts. Then break some glass and use that super glue and put it on the bars of the bike, under neath. That is what you should do then without a doubt you will know who did it and when you see them look at the bike and say wow thats my stolen bike, in front of everyone. And look at them in horror and walk away.

But no dont' take it back. just wear gloves so you don't leave any finger prints on the glass or bike.

  3. h**l yea, its yours.

  4. you should totally steal it back they had no right to take it!! mabey you should leave a nasty note and notify the management and tell the coach so EVERYONE knows what they did, mabey the coach will make them run or something unpleasant like that!! idk good luck!!

  5. well, see , if you had made a police report, and given them the serial number, then they would care now!

btw, what planet are you on that you think anything at all from walmart has not been bought by trillions of other people? I thought you wqere going to say it had a certain dent or scratch or something to identify it, but instead you said it was unique because you got it at walmart! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

btw, i had a bike stolen in san francisco once, and I did have the serial number, and i did fantasize about seeing it and taking it back. never saw it though. also never saw another bike like it, as it was a not-so-commonly sold manufacturer, from a particular year and model and color.

  6. yes absoulutly my daddy said

  7. yes

  8. Steal the bike back (and sell it.)  Fair is fair.

  9. Hmmm... I think i would disable the bike, smashing the pieces into interesting and creative ways

But make sure you leave an embarrassing PUBLIC note, such as advertising their misdeed all around the campus, and especially their dorms with vibrant colored flyers about the wrongs of stealing a someone's bike and "pimping it"

Oh and make some truly offensive tribute to football.

    That's payback.

  10. I've stolen one my bikes back, and one of my sisters.

If you know for a fact it's yours, I don't see the problem but at the same time you consider telling the police. It's good to get your bike back, but even more fun to stick it to the thief who stole it.

  11. Knock on their door and ask them if they have your money? When they say "what money?" Say "the money you owe me for purchasing my bike." Tell them that your father who is a police officer wanted to take care of it but you assured him that they would pay for it. So, if they could have your money by the next day your father wouldn't have to waste his time with all the arrest paperwork, and reporting to the President of the college, and the coach, etc. Then say thanks and I'll see you tomorrow. Even if they don't come up with some money they will be worried sick that they're going to be busted. (It would be really cool if you get a hold of a police uniform and have a friend where it and wave at them from across the street.)

  12. Steal the bike back and leave a fruit cake where they left it.  That will tell them that they are fruit cakes.

  13. hah do it. just steal it back and put like a condaim or something on the bike lock.. lmao =D

  14. If your positive it was yours, than you should definitely do something.  You're probably thinking something funny, but I'm definitely thinking something more physical and not nearly as funny.

  15. lock it

  16. You are not stealing it back if you found it. How can you steal something that belongs to you? Leaving a nice note explaining the fact that it's your bike would be nice for some one who is unsuspecting. Otherwise, letting the creep who pulled this prank that you have your bike back is just fine.

  17. its urs steal it back or you can be the better person and go up to them and be like i know u stole my bike but its alright because u aint got no life to go around steling peoples bikes

  18. If you can PROVE  that is in fact your bike (serial numbers) Then I would call the police. There could be a chance that it may be legal property of another, By stealing it you could get in trouble with the cops.

  19. You might booby trap the seat so that it blows their yingyang off when they sit down on it.

  20. let them keep it but slash there tires on there bike and car. Problem solved.

    OR

saw dust in where you put the gas. messes it up big time.

  21. WELL IF U HAVE NEW BIKE THEN DONT WORRY ABOUT IT...

  22. Put a note on their bike saying, I know you stole my bike, your a marked man.
