Should I still get a tongue piercing?

I want a toungue peircing and most people think the only reason why you want is for male pleasure but in this case I want one because it looks cool. I dont want people judging me and thinking thats the reason why I want it. Should I still get one?

If you want it, get it done. People will most likely still judge you, but that's how people are. If you like the way it looks, who cares what other people think. I have people look at me strangely on a daily basis (I have multiple piercings, stretched lobes and purple streaked hair), but I like the way I look and don't let it bother me. My concern with tongue piercings are the stories about chipped teeth and the obsessive playing with the jewelry that some people with tongue piercings do. Personally, I like the look (on most people), but wouldn't get it done myself (I'd be one of those people playing with the barbell and I'm a stickler about my teeth).

Do it! :) I have had mine pierced for about 10 years. The first year, you deal with some weird healing issues (like, you can't blow a bubble with your gum), but otherwise, I love mine! And no one has ever suggested that I did it for S****y reasons - I just like the way it looks!

Make sure you have a professional piercer do it and that they use a new needle. And don't try to hide this one from the parents/your boss, etc, because the first week, your tongue swells and EVERYONE will know!
