Question:

Should I still go to my highschool homecoming dance? I just hate all the provacative dancing.

I'm a sophomore and I have a boyfriend who I'd obviously go with.

All dances at most highschools, ours included, has so much explicit dancing. Girls just moving their *** in guys' crotches, frontal grinding, groping. I think it's disgusting. This even happens at Prom where the night is supposed to be elegant and sophisticated! What kind of generation is this?

I mean, going to something like that maaay be fun with your friends or when you're single, but I'm not sure if I want to go to homecoming with a boyfriend because I'm not into grinding with him on the dance floor acting all provacative.

I'm not immature when it comes to being s**y, impressing guys, any of that. I know what I'm doing. I'm just not into acting so, no offense to anyone, S****y on the dance floor and I really don't want to be around it all too much.

What do you think?

Thanks

  1. Ew, i know what you mean, some girls just love the attention of provocative dancing, i think its gross and untasteful..

Myself was a freshman last year, and i didn't go to any dances because of that reason.

Ill probably go to homecoming this year, and just stand there conversing with people far as away from those hos.

    You should go!

It might not be that bad.

  2. I think you should go. If your boyfriend really respects you he wont make you dance provocative. Homecoming is supposed to be fun (i can't wait to go to my first one this year =]) So just try to ignore the people that bother you and just have fun with your friends and boyfriend. Enjoy your night and please just go..you will look back when you're older and wonder why you didn't just go and enjoy yourself! Have fun!

  3. Well... I was the same way in hs and as long as u have friends that you can hang out with you'll have fun. And see what your bf wants to do. U could also just meet up with ur friends after the dance.

  4. I know what you mean. Talk to your boyfriend about it, so he knows that if you don't go with him, it's because of the type of dancing, not because of him. Maybe if you're lucky he'll feel the same way and you two can go without dancing as provocatively. Otherwise, I'd say you should stick to your morals and if that's what he wants to do, you don't have to go with him. Good luck sorting this out. :)
