Should I stop paying my credit cards if I plan on bankrupcy?

  1. No.  If you file for bankruptcy, an agent will be assigned to contact your creditors and inform them of your status.  Once informed, your creditors cannot contact you or attempt to collect debts from you until the court determines what will be repaid and what can't.


  2. No.  Most of the time in a bankruptcy you'll end up having to pay some of your creditors anyway.  So pay what you can and keep of your receipts and/or cancelled checks.
