Should I submit my resume online to human resources even though there is no posting for a particular job, or even if I don't have a contact that I know on a personal basis? I am looking for jobs in the radio industry, particularly in production/programming but I am limited to certain markets and am not sure how to go about this. Also, I am looking for jobs in either the New York or Boston market. Please help if you can!! :)

  1. Rachel,

It is a very good idea to do this.  Many employment counselors call this cold calling.

Also if you receive a letter back with a signature from HR at the station, you now have a contact name for the future.  Pretty slick, huh?

The following are a couple links that may help you reach your goal to find a Radio Production job in the difficult Boston or New York Markets.
