I graduated nursing school on July, 17 2008. (LPN program). After graduation, all aplications were sent so we can seat for our state board examination. Now, a month later we recieved notice from the state board that we needed more OB and PEDS hours. I am enraged with the school because they knew all the board's requirements, yet they failed to meet them and now we are paying for their mistakes. I have a job set up to start this comming monday, they hired me because I was supposed to take the state board within a few weeks. But now that not it's not happening, most likely I will lose this job. (which pays decent for an LPN $25/hr). I wonder if I should sue them for all the inconvinience and all the stress that they have put us through.

  1. hmmmm,,,,,I don't think suing the school is productive. Yes, they should have been aware of the regulations that go with certification; however, suing them could take years and in the end is counterproductive. I would just get your hours in and go on with your life.

Another thing worth looking into would be to bring this up to the school and see if they will discount your tuition b/c of their error. In all likelihood they will and everyone will be happy;)

  2. Think about this. Intentions based on anger and rage leave nothing but destruction and harm in their wake. And the anger and rage will be pent up for a long time if you carry this out. Is it worth it? Would you mind delaying your life for severincapability'sse of their incapabilities? How much would you even get? If you could sue for millions, i'd say go for it. If you only got minor gains and your decision is mostly emotionally based. When those emotions run out, will you regret not moving on with your life now?

  3. Sue for sexual harassment.
