Hi. I'm 17, just started my senior year and have a 3.65 GPA so far.

This year with packed classes and schedule malfunctions I'm unhappy with the classes I'm in this year. The school year just started and I wanna get this fixed as soon as possible.

The main issue is I have to choose between taking a French 4 class and an AP english class. I love French and learning languages in general not to mention all my classmates have been with me in that class since freshmen year. I've also had the same teacher so I love that class! However AP english will look really good to colleges and since Im pursuing journalism in college it would be really good.

If I drop english I can take english humanities Honors which is good but Im nervous because then I'll only have 2 AP classes in my whole High school career if I drop AP english.

I'm really confused b/c I want to make the right decision for my future and my heart.

Thanks for any help

I need to decide by tuesday.

  1. Is there no AP French? Really, it all depends on how many APs you school offers.  If your school has only like 4 AP classes, colleges recognize that and understand that you couldn't possibly have taken like 11 APs.  If it was me, I would stay in the English class (especially if it was AP Language, because that is an easier test than the Lit one) and take some French classes at my local community college. Honestly, I know you like French, but the AP English will look a lot better on your HS transcript.

  2. Take what you love, your in High School enjoy your senior year, take your college classes in college.
