Should I take 1 AP course my senior year and focus on studying SAT 1/2s?

Hey guys it would be great if I got your opinions. I just started my AP gov summer homework... and there is soooo much. There are only 2 weeks left until school starts, and if I focus on AP gov, then I won't be able to study SATs much for the rest of the summer. I still need to retake SAT 1/2s and ACT -_-

- i originally signed up for 2 APs my senior year but SHOULD i just drop AP gov and go into normal gov and only take 1 AP course my senior year and focus on SATs? The only thing is that I'm just afraid UCs won't like me only taking 1 AP course (AP stats). Will UCs think that I'm not taking enough challenging courses? If i drop to regular gov, i'll probably take 5 classes my senior year.

btw, I'm pretty sure I can get an A in regular gov, while I'd probably be getting a B in AP gov

WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO?

-THANKSS

  1. I think you should take as many AP classes as you can stand.  Seeing Cs in those classes is better than taking a bunch of regular classes.

  2. Since it is your senior year and it's the UCs then you should definitely take regular. For the UC GPA system, they only weight at max 5 AP or honors classes, so in this case, more A's is usually better than Bs or Cs in AP classes. This also means that UCs will not have enough manpower to actually look at what classes you are taking and they won't care if they are challenging or not as long as you fulfill all their required classes and get a high unweighted GPA. Also, the UCs care A LOT about test scores so it's best to make sure you do really well on your SATs and ACTs. Hope this helps. Good luck!
