  1. Taking AP classes and tests are ALWAYS  a positive for college admissions--you challenged yourself; yes, it will be harder, but you have to prepare for college eventually. Most schools offer some added bonus for AP classes, whether 5 or 10 points extra on grades, or something like that and so your average might not fluctuate at all. Go ahead and take the classes and study for the AP tests in the spring.

  2. Advanced Placement classes are a great way to take a more difficult course load while getting an idea of what classes will be like in college. Colleges and universities look highly on students who have taken and done well in AP courses, regardless of what they receive on the test (they don't see your scores until you are accepted). AP courses are also a great way to raise your grade point average. If you are nervous about them, just take one next year. See how you like it and if you care for them, think about taking more your senior year. Good luck!

  3. Go ahead and take APs.

    1) They are weighted an extra 1 point. So even if you get a B it'll still have the same GPA as a normal A (4.0). If you do get an A your GPA will really benefit.

    2) If you do well on the tests you can get the class credit in college, which saves money and time and also gives you more opportunity to take classes you want if you have a busy college curriculum.

  4. It depends on what type of college you're hoping to go to. Top colleges won't consider candidates who went to schools that offered APs but didn't take them.
