Question:

Should I take AP Statistics in 10th grade?

I am a rising sophomore and I have taken Algebra 2/trigonometry in 9th grade. It is summer and I still have time to decide. I was thinking if I take AP Statistics in 10th grade, I would get rid of an EASIER AP early. But my friends and teachers have said that colleges recommend students to take AP Statistics in their senior year. In that case, I can take AP Statistics in senior year, but I will have 5 other APs and Multivariable Calculus. Please give reasonable advice and tell me the gains and losses of taking AP Statistics in 10th grade Vs. taking it Jr. or Sr. year.

  1. Dear Sir

I sure would it will in prove your changes for getting into a really good collage and also just maybe you might get help with grants and books dorm living and little cost for you in collage

So I say yes that I sure would do so if it was me ok.

  2. I think you should wait for 11th grade -- take pre-calculus first, it will help a lot.

  3. Take whatever you're comfortable with. Usually people who take Algebra II in 9th grade take Geometry or Precalculus 10th grade though. If you believe you can do well in AP Statistics, take it. Colleges won't care if you took it sophomore or senior year; they care how well you did.
