Should I take Ap Composition?

Im going into my junior year. Im already taking AP chem, and Ap Us history? Im scared it might be too much? Is Ap comp hard? Do it involve a lot of after school practice?

  1. the school Iam going to didn't accept ap comp.


  2. Actually....some schools don't even give credit for AP comp (b/c it's not really a good indicator of how good you'll be at college level lang.). It was not as hard as lit and lit actually counts. It's basically like studying for the c.r. of the SAT.

  3. Compared with AP Literature, which if I recall correctly, is a prerequisite, AP Comp is less time-intensive.

    Three AP courses is a heavy load, but depending on what kind of a student you are, you may be able to handle it. Chem and History will require lots of extra study time, but Comp is likely to be more intellectually demanding.

  4. No, it really isn't all that bad, and trust me the security gained by entering college with a bunch of credits already taken care of is worth it. The U.S. history test is cake (i took and passed it despite not taking the class) too, so I wouldn't worry about that one. AP chem on the other hand is supposed to be really hard, but I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck!
