Question:

Should I take Maths A-Level?

I am awaiting my GCSE results, but I am predicted an A.

If I were to take maths it would be simply because I need the help with it when I go on to do my chemistry degree at university.

However, I think I may struggle, and not be able to handle it, and I don't want to do it if I will fail, I must get C or above, though I'd prefer a B or an A.

But i'm worried that taking maths will make things harder for my other Alevels.

What would people recommend?

Is maths Alevel really that difficult?

Please help, thankyou,

  1. If you're planning on doing a Chemistry degree at university, maths would certainly be a good thing to do.

If you're predicted an A at GCSEs, don't worry. A level maths probably won't be more difficult (harder, obviously, but in terms of ability...).
