Should I take Spanish, German, or ASL and why?

    If you're living in America (especially in California, Arizona, New Mexico), Spanish is clearly the most useful and functional choice. It's also one of the easiest languages out there; it's very formulaic and doesn't have a bunch of strange exceptions like English does.

    I've never taken German but I don't see any use for it unless you're actually going to visit Germany...also (no offense to anyone) I personally happen to think it is just not the most attractive language to listen to. It's all guttural and ick.

    I took an ASL class and it was just a huge hassle...a whole bunch of crazy memorization and the tests are awful. And unless you are crazily devoted to it, you will never learn enough to communicate fluently with a deaf person. There's just really no point unless you want to be an ASL translator.
