I'm going to make this as short as possible. I need to get a few groceries. Normally this wouldn't be an issue as I keep a smal amount of money to do just that. However here is the problem, I've been waiting for a credit card since June, and because it hasen't arrived I called and they have sent me another, as it should have arrived by now. I needed that card because my son had an important first appointment at the IWK in Halifax. To go to this appointment I need to have a bit of money to pay the fee for staying at the Ronald McDonald house, and to feed my children and I while there. All I have left is this money, and I need the basics, like Milk, bread, ect. This money would normally be spent there but because my card didn't arrive, I think I need to save it for our trip. I've already purchased the buss tickets needed. I don't know if I can borrow the money from a friend for the trip as it is on the 14-15 of Augest. My CTB will arrive the 20th. And I can't go to the food bank till Monday. I've got plenty of foodd, but I lack certain things needed to make full meals, example, I have sandwich meat but no bread left ect. ect. So should I take the chance and go get the supplies I need now, and risk being without money for our trip? Or should I continue to make odd meals for my children, knowing they aren't getting the nutrition they need. Keep in mind that I may be able to borrow money from my friend. He is still at work, and I won't know for a little while if he can help.

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I'm just looking for what you would do given these circumstances.

  1. Jennifer,

I am sorry to hear about your circumstances.  I, too, live penny to penny.  I don't know where you stand with God, and I am not preaching, by no means, but God always provides for His children.  God knows you and your son's needs.  God will not fail nor forsake you in time of need!  However, the question is, do we trust Him?  Do we have enough faith in His words?  Obviously your friend knows the importance of this trip and surely he wouldn't want you to go hungry, I would ask for his assistance.  In the mean time, seek God and His guidance, He will provide if asked with an earnest heart.

  2. Find a Sikh temple they will feed you for free. Good nutritious food.

  3. Odd meals are find for the kids. They don't have to have bread everyday for exsample. Is there a church you can call. You would be surprized at many churches will help you even if you don't belong to them. Just call and ask. I'm concerned that your having to use a credit card to be able to pay the fee at the Ronald McDonald house. Please call them and tell them you don't have any money to pay the fee. They might be able to wave that fee. Also, I belive they have social workers or people who are there to help when there isn't enough money. Ask if there is anyone who can help you and explain what is going on. Also, call the Salvation Army let people know this is a medical issue for your son. When your friend gets home ask him for whatever help he is able to give. Make sure you ask the Ronald house if they have any programs and any help they can give you in feeding yourself and the kids while your there. Good luck, there is help out there just start dialing the phone and start asking and don't give up even when someone says no. My thoughts and prayers are with you.  ( and as to goodgrei that wrote and beliving that god will take care of you...YES YOU ARE PREACHING.... god is present yes but I find it funny that all you can say is believe in god and ask you friend for help)
