OK I am 27, F, I have been offered a job for 85K as a brand manager in fashion in NYC. I was planning to apply to a MBA program this fall which will push me out of work for 2 yrs.

I am debating if I should continue to apply, or just take the job and take continuing education classes to build my skills?

Help I dont know what to do? Am I settling for too little?

  1. Take the job!  You can always do online courses or go to school part-time to earn your degree.  85K is a really good beginning salary. with that salary you won't even need student loans

  2. Why not do it by distance education and attend actual classes during work breaks eg:

    Thanks

  3. 85k? That is a very good salary. I say go to work for them, and save up for college if you ever do want to go.

But I say...go for the job!!!!

  4. Take the job. In this day and age 85K is a good salary

  5. Take the job, the way the economy is going in 2 years you may not be able to find a job.....

  6. take the  job daaaaa

  7. Only you can decide. If you already have enough work experience plus good grades and high GMAT score, you can get into excellent MBA programs and upon completion probably get work at an even higher pay. but it will take almost two years and you would be giving up some $150,000 plus paying tuition.

An alternative is to take the job and enroll in a part-time program in your area or a distance learning program from a good school. Explore these options in the Official MBA Guide, a free service that can help you make the decision. You can limit your search to part time programs in your vicinity and another search for distance learning program worldwide. The new job may even provide some tuition help with the MBA.
