I usually take my birth control at 9:00pm every night. Well, I had s*x last night with my boyfriend (no condom & he came in me). And then I realized this morning that I had forgotten to take my pill, so I took it. Do you think I need to get morning after pill still?

  1. Talk to your pharmacist about this one - I was told you shouldn't take the morning after pill if you are on the pill because it would be an overdose of the hormones and very bad for you. Think it depends what kind of pill you are on though.

  2. What time did you take it? If it's less than 12 hours since you were meant to take it, so you took it before 9am, then you're probably ok. I wouldn't recommend using the morning after pill as you're on the regular pill. If that's the only pill you've missed, I would recommend you use condoms for one week, and skip the placebo break if it happens before the end of the week.

Here are some links that say all you are supposed to do is take the missed pill as soon as you remember, and don't suggest condoms:

  3. should b a problem.....but better to b safe than sorry!!!...

  4. not if you've taken the missed pill less than 12 hours after u missed it.  if it was more than 12 hours, you have a small chance of not being covered so might be an idea to have a talk with your pharmacist

  5. I suggest you do. You should be covered, but if you're scared for a pregnancy, then better be safe than sorry.

  6. depends on how long you have been on the pill.  if you just started taking the pill, then take a morning after pill.  if you have been on the pill for months, then one missed pill is nothing to worry about, you took it the next morning .  if you are still worried, go ahead and take the morning after pill.  you should only be worried though, if you have been taking antibiotics, or you miss pills regularly.
