I'm seven and a half months pregnant and I still have my stud in my navel. Should I take it out? My doctor hasn't said anything about it and Ive heard my share of horror stories of stretched belly buttons and belly rings popping off during labour. Any suggestions?

  1. THey make special belly button rings for pregnant women!!!!!!!!!

  2. yikes!

HOnestly, i would take it out!  That just sounds painful!

Do you use lotions or oil for stretch marks?

  3. I have my belly button piercing in for the last 10 years and I am also debating whether or not to take it out...

I have heard of those Maternity Bars but I have also heard of stretch marks appearing around the belly button because of the piercing..

I am 4 months now and I am also using Bio Oil but to be honest I think I will probably take it out cos its not worth the hassle it might cause!

    Best of Luck Deciding.... :)

  4. I would take it out it could tear out and believe me your belly button isnt pretty when it tears out Ive had a double navel piercing one top and bottom and I put on some weight and just from weight gain they tore out so I would assume it would be the same for a pregnant woman. Im pregnant and Im planning to remove some of my piercings Ask you ob/gyn I talked to mine about my nipple rings and my vertical hood piercing she said I didnt have to remove neither but suggested I did. Im taking the nipple rings out because of increased risk of infection since the b*****s are obviously producing milk and could be leaking later on in pregnancy also Im taking the hood out because they say you might tear during labor.

  5. With my second daughter I wore my belly button ring until about 6 or 7 months.  After that I bought a clear flexible spacer type ring.  I didn't take that out until right before I went in for my C-section.  Call a local piercing parlor maybe they can tell you where you can get a spacer.

  6. You should look at this website, they specialize in maternity belly rings, and the are really cute!!

  7. i kept my belly ring in the whole time with my first pregnancy and had a c section with it in. this time around i'm 18 1/2 weeks along and still have it in. usually they say take it out if it begins to hurt or bother you, but so far for me no problems either pregnancy.

  8. id take it out soon, it shouldn't close up. i took mine out at like 4 months and i wish i hadn't, because it closed, but i think your going to be getting real big soon and you are not going to want to have it in.

  9. They will make you take it out during labor. I tried to switch to a maternity belly ring when I was 6mo. along. It started to get infected. I took it out I figured it wasn't worth the risk.

  10. That's up to you! I personally did!

  11. I took mine out early on. My hole has already closed up =( but i'm still glad I did. I didn't want to take the chance of it stretching. I'd take it out.

  12. I had mine in untill my last ultrasound when they finally noticed it and i had to take it out because it messed with the machine. unless you want it out, don't take it out.
