This is going to be her first birthday, and I want it to be special. We cannot go outside much as it is very hot here in Florida in the afternoon, so I was thinking of taking her to the Tampa Aquarium. She doesn't go out much except for daily walks, and I don't know if she'll enjoy it or be frustrated. It's quite a drive, as we live in the middle of nowhere. Have you had a similar experience? It is too early for her? Will she enjoy it?

  1. Yes! Take her. She will love looking at fish, etc... Sounds like a great plan. The drive anywhere is never fun but the Aquarium will be worth the trip. You'll enjoy just looking at her face full of amazement from looking at everything. Go have fun!

  2. Yes, defiantly take her. She might get fussy after an hour (or so) so so make sure you pack her snacks, sippy cup (or bottle) and a few small toys to entertain her.

You can buy an entrainment center for the car ride (it goes over the car seat), if you are worried about a long trip in the car.

My daughter is 16 months old and we took her to the Aquarium a few times already, even before her 1st Birthday and she loves it there every time we go.

Happy birthday to your little girl and enjoy your day trip with her.

  3. Absolutely! Kids like brightly colored fish...Thats a great idea! Don't be sad if you don't get a huge response though...my little boy was always quiet at the aquarium and he would like study the fish...he was just a baby too.

  4. Absolutley!!!!!!She'll love it!!!Buy her an activity centre for the car journey to keep her amused, plus she'll love looking out of the window.Hope you have a wonderful day.Why not adopt a dolphin or whale in her name, through the Aquarium,as a birthday gift???
