I took the SAT and was dissappointed with my score (1360 out of 2400), then the second time I only got 10 points higher. Should I give the ACT a try?

  1. try the sats again

i took the acts in 6th grade and got a 22

  2. the thing about the ACT is that they don't really measure how much you know, they measure how good you are at taking an ACT test. you have to prepare for it. really hard. I'm in the 8th grade this year and i've taken it once and my score was a 22. I wouldn't have gotten that if I hadn't prepared for it. if you do decide to study hard then It will be worth taking it though.

  3. definently try the ACTs!

it gave me a much better chance of getting into the schools i want

  4. yes, you should definitely try the ACT. Many people (including myself) do much better on the ACT than on the SAT.

good luck with whichever one you choose

  5. Yes, give the ACT a try.  The first time I took it, I got a perfect composite score, but I took the SAT five times and never got a perfect score.  Some people just naturally do better on one than the other.  However, I must warn you that you should not expect to see an improvement on any test score if you do not study and prepare.  Try The Official Guide to the SAT and The Real ACT Prep Guide for test prep.
