Question:

Should I take the chance and steal him?

My best friend Michael has gotten into a lot of trouble these last few months. He moved to another state and he's dating a complete s**t, but she's not so much the problem, as what she's gotten him into. He's coming back to visit for about 2 months, and he's already asked me out. I know he really likes me, but I also know we would never work out, because our lives are headed in two completely different directions. But, I also know if I were to go out with him, I could get him straightened up, more than I could if I turned him down. But I don't want to lead him on, make him think that I've changed my mind. Would it be a bad idea to go out with him, and let him figure out that we're better off as best friends, not a couple? I do love him, but not in that way. Not in a I want to spend my life with you way. Advice please!

  1. what makes u think u can straighten him out? you cant change someone else..they only can change if THEY want to change..and it looks like he doesnt....i would just stay friends with him and thats it...he seems pretty messed up, why would you wanna date someone with so much baggage, move on

  2. To think that you can change someone is a mistake.

There isn't much you can do for him at this point, is there. He's already a mess. If you want to babysit, go right ahead.

  3. Let him make his own decisions and mistakes.

Oh yeah, and don't try to change someone

  4. If you dont feel that way about him i dont think that it is your place to go out with him just so you can help get him straight. Thats not your responsibility.
