  1. Christy, vitamins are NOT drugs.  They are not something you 'take' to change a symptom.  They are nutrients that are vital for your health.  You need all of them, in appropriate amounts.  They are NOT drugs.

If you take a vitamin supplement and feel improvement in some aspect of your health or well-being, then you were DEFICIENT in that vitamin.  And, if you are deficient in one, medical studies show that you are likely deficient in other basic nutrients.

Because of modern diets - junk food, fast food, and processed foods - most people today have inadequate intakes of numerous vitamins and minerals.  A healthy diet and a quality MULTI-vitamin/mineral supplement is recommended in thousands of scientific research papers.

So, for energy, literally every vitamin and every essential mineral is needed for optimum biochemical functions in your body.

Hope this clarifies your thinking on this issue.

  2. Vitamin B12 is given by many doctors to provide the patient with more energy.  There are negative side effects of taking too much of it, and some people are over sensitive to it, so it needs to be taken with caution.
