Should I teach myself bass?

I've been playing guitar for about 10 years and I'm pretty good. But almost EVERYONE plays guitar. It's so hard to find a band. I've been thinking about teaching myself some bass technique, since the notes are the same as guitar, that would be a plus. Obviously, stuff like slap bass would be hard to learn. I have a good "groove" sense, but there is no way I can learn drums (no space). I was thinking of learning bass or keys, but bass would be easier.

Yeah. You would have a much better chance to get in a band if you knew how to play bass. It is also good to learn about more instruments.
