I'm not married, I just changed it because I hated my old name. I had it changed in court. Anyway, should I let interviewers know that I had it changed, or not?

What I (Guest22655343) meant was not how you should answer a question if presented, but how employment applications should IMO be designed.

Guest3034 - Doing a blanket asking about previous names could potentially lead to discrimination issues. For example, someone changing an ethnic-sounding name to one less so, transgendered individuals, religious conversion, etc. Except for background checks, the best protocol is to ask for such names if needed to verify one's employment or education.
