Should I tell my friends at school that I still play yu-gi-oh and pokemon(cards).?

I'm 13 and in middle school. I think I am fairly "cool", but I am afraid what people will think if I tell them I play tcg.

You should totally do it. I myself was emberrased. I was an athlete or body builder (whatever you wanna call it) last year in 12th grade. Me and a bunch of friend I went to the races(yeah I'm a tuner fan too, I love tuners, my 96 Integra with B18C) with were playing Halo 3 one day all in my friend's house. I told them if they didn't wanna do something different and one of my friends said "lets play pokemon cards". We all laughed at him till we noticed he was serious. I was like, okay, "but I dont have any pokemon except Yugioh, I have my yugioh cards that I collected from 2002-2004 and 2005". We played, laughed and got hooked on to it again. Now every weekend we meet and play a couple of matches then at night we go out and race. It's funny how you cannot tell who plays yugioh untill they admit it. We dont even look nothing like nerds. We party and everything and still play yugioh. Its crazy we are plus 10 of us who play and get together on weekends to play yugioh and go race. So yeah, dont be ashamed. Let it loose. You're still too young to worry about what people will say. You should never be ashamed to be different. Me and all my friends all listen to rap and rock. Some dress like gangsters and others like rockers, but we're all drawn together by tuners and cars. And now yugioh too.LOL!

Dude its fine if you play, why not tell them. I'm 18 years old and I play, I also have tons of friends, play college baseball and have a pretty hot girlfriend. Its just a game and a hobby and that's nothing to be ashamed of. You could also make a ton of money on the cards in tournaments and what not. Plus you will be surprised how many people play, by telling them you may find more people to play cards with.

you don't have to tell anyone, its your hobby.

so just have fun and relax, dont get peer pressured just because your afraid that people might laugh at you.

unless you want them to play with you or to watch you play you shouldnt bother to tell them, other wise you dont really have a good reason to tell them. i met some of my college friends through yugioh, i know how it sounds and it looks exactly how it sounds, EXTREMELY GEEKY. lol.

dont feel ashamed of what you do for recreation. thats something you will realize when you get older. its more important to have fun than what you look like when you do it. otherwise your never gonna have fun.

anyways middle school and high school is probably the best time to have geeky fun, ppl dont expect much of you anyways, your just a kid.

Playing TCG ain't nothing to be ashamed of. If people don't like you for it, they are not the kind of people you want to be around anyway.

YOu would be surprised how many of your friends are still atleast intrested in the game. Im 17 and to day i was playing iwht my friends, and all of them were some what into it. So go ahead and tell them, just do it with confidence. If you try to hide it or sound ashamed about it, they will pick up on that and pick on you. WHat you should do is say " Yeah i play, what?!" wiht a bit of force. Thats what i do, and people actaully respond in a kind way. Ofcourse all of my freinds were at one point nerdy( but who didnt play yugioh/ pokemon at one time?) but tyour should still approve of you.
