Question:

Should I tell my orthodontist?

Luckily, my teeth don't hurt anymore from my braces. But on the ends, two of the wires are a little bit too long. They dig into my cheeks (now I have two holes), and it's extremely painful everytime I open and close my mouth. Should I call my orthodontist and ask to clip them off? Or am I just being a baby?

  1. For now get some orthodontic wax to put over the ends of the wires so that they don't dig in while you are waiting and then get your orthodontist to cut them back.

  2. Yea tell him and then they will just cut the wires down for you. Had the same problem before and it's much better when you get it sorted!

  3. Yes.  Call the orthodontist.  You are not being a baby.  Why should you have to deal with pain, when the problem can be easily fixed.  Call right now.

  4. you should tell ur orthod.

thats wat u paid them for

    theyll cut the wire alittle

    i had the same thing

my mom took me to the orthod.

they cut my wire so now

    it doesnt hurt

  5. of course u should tell him!!!

  6. Very common, he will cut them. as the teeth shift the wires are longer bc they are straighter.

  7. any problems with sores in your mouth from dental equipment should be immediately reported to your dentist

cause that could mean things such as a bad placement possibly resulting in your teeth not ending up where they should be

not to mention your mouth has millions of bacteria go through each day and an open wound in your mouth begs for infection

  8. you could go and get them clipped off or you could just put some wax on it until your next appointment

  9. call his *** and tell him he needs to do his job and stop being a s****t. my ortho watched people in pain with utter delight. tell him with a nasty tone he needs to clip them off because he missed it the first time.

  10. Of course your not being a baby. He would want to know this. That is an easy fix. Please call him.
