  1. make sure theyre comfortable... but tight enough so your ankle isnt really loose. that will give you better ability for skating if theyre more tight

  2. your skate should feel like its your foot. personally i buy extra long laces for my size so i can wrap them around twice my ankle. i put my shin guards over the tongue of the skate. hope this helps!!!

  3. Yes.....tightly.

  4. Whatever's comfortable.... within reason. I only tighten from about the 4th lace crossing on up- leaving the front of my foot not loose, but not tight. Above that it's all very tight to support your foot. Buy a lace tightener- basically a little wire hook with a handle that you use to grip the lace at each eyelet, and pull. Then you pull the other side of that lace and work out all the slack before you tie it.

  5. It's more about how you lace them then it is how you tighten them.

Try using the hiking boot lacing method. It says it evens out pressure. I'm guessing your skates go at least to the ankle or higher and are bothering you or pinching you?
