She also spilled ketchup on my son's lap and thought it was funny. I however was not amused.

  1. Don't tip her, and go their again. I find it unlikely to have the same waitress.

  2. Sure give her a tip after all was it her fault the wings were not ready or the cooks?  As for spilling the ketchup, just give her less of  a tip or put on a comment card.

  3. No you shouldn't tip. It depends if it was her fault or not. I know wings do take a while, but 20 minutes is a long time. And to be cold, I would dare say it is her fault.

As for the ketchup deal, she lost her tip when she thought it was funny.

I am a waitress, and I'd be embarassed if I did that, but it does happen sometimes. Did she apologize at all? If not, then she didn't deserve a tip.

I would go back, and if you end up with her again, either try again, or ask for a different waitress. You do have that right!

The thing with us waitresses is.. if you don't tip, we don't know if you meant not to tip or if you just plain forgot.

I always feel that if you're not tipping because of whatever reason, either tell us, or leave a note. It helps us, and it would probably help the customer to vent.

Go back, but ask for a different waitress!! Darn those Hooter girls!!!!

  4. no matter how hot she might be...no tip for lousy service!

  5. Sounds like poor service, I don't blame you for not tipping.

  6. it's possible that she laughed because she was nervous or ya know how you laugh when you see someone slip and fall. It's not funny but you just laugh anyway?

did you see her goofing off or giving better service to other tables? was she rude or just busy?

unless she didn't pick up the wings in a timely manner the quality of the food is not her doing.

if she was laughing at him and not doing her job then absolutely no tip.

if it was just busy or she was trying you should have left a small tip and possibly spoken to the manager or written a letter.

just if you ever go back make sure you don't get her again, not leaving a tip and going back could be hazardous to your health.

  7. I am not a waitress nor am I in a field where I collect or am allowed to receive them and I firmly believe that tipping is not optional.  If you have a problem with your server you should ask to speak with a manager.  If uncomfortable asking your waitress try walking up to the bar and asking another server or bartender if they can send a manager to your table.  If it's still on your mind than I would suggest the next time you do go back, if the same waitress is working, ask to be seated in her section.  Keep and open mind and give her a second chance.  If this time she exceeds your expectations leave a little extra in the tip.  If the girl is truly terrible at her job she may not be there when you return, perhaps it wasn't her fault or maybe she was having a bad day.  Wouldn't you want a second chance if you made a mistake?

  8. Well its not her fault about the wings taking so long, she doesnt make them she just brings them to you.

  9. No. TheIf she thought it was funny? No way.

  10. Well, if you go to Hooters you should expect lousy service so expect to tip as minimum as posible, In the other hand  the waitress is  performing  a job and if  she  is  not  capable  of  doing  so, I´m sorry  but  the least  you can do is recognize her lousy and  sloppy service by GIVING HER  ZERO; NADA, NIENTE, maybe  is a better way for her to learn and  be  more attentive  to basic  things,  she will not prefer that you complain to her supervisor that will be worst, but  the tip thing should be OK.

  11. As far as the wings taking so long, that would be the cook's doing.

The ketchup situation would not have amused me in the least and I would have said something to her.

  12. Don't tip if it's not good service.

  13. no!    Ur not obligated to pay for bad service u recieved.    Don't feel bad by not leaving a tip.    I wouldn't give her money.      Hot girl or not u got  bad service and u don't need to tip her.        She had no right to laugh,  I would talk to her boss.   Let them know what happend.      Ur a paying custumer ur needs come first.

  14. I'm sorry that that happened to you, especially

on the day you took your son out to enjoy

a nice bite to eat!! That sucks! What bothered me

the most was that she knew that you weren't

satisfied with the SERVICE and COURTESY

    that she gave you

and your son, and she just stood there with out

any concern as you and your son left,

I hate to say it but sometimes

very attractive girls feel like there looks will get them by scott free when it comes to mistakes they make! Nobody is perfect

but show some consideration for your customers! You have no reason to feel bad Hollywood! But I'm sure you have a soft spot for hard workers, if you decide to go back there, either #1.tell her how you felt about her service, #2 request a different waitress or #3 since you can't resist the Hooters Buffalo Wings, choose another one to go to. I'm more than sure there are other ones near your area! I hope this helps you in your decision... Take care

  15. no tip, apart from the wings taking 30mins. It's her fault it was cold. she took her merry time bringing it to you.maybe she'll be more careful with another customer, not spilling ketchup on them..

  16. Lousy service is unacceptable!  But on the other hand, maybe Hooters is not the ideal place to bring your child to eat either.  Also be skeptical about going back to the restaurant after you did not tip the server.  Believe me servers DO NOT FORGET a lousy or non tipper and word will travel fast between the servers on a shift.  They talk to each other, your food takes too long and hopefully not "contaminated" by the time it gets to you.  But maybe a smaller tip with a small note letting them know of your unhappy dining experience.

  17. Never, ever tip lousy service. But you might leave a note telling her why you didn't tip.

  18. I usually leave a nickel but since she saw and heard your explanation, that is sufficient.  The reason you leave a nickel is that she knows that you didn't just forget plus she still has to do the paperwork to record the amount (although it is a bit easier to do nowadays).

Two things I think you should have done is to always send back cold food (no exceptions) and later ask the hostess in front that you would like to talk to the manager.  Be polite when you talk to the manager and calmly explain your complaints. Go on the assumption that the manager is unaware of the problem and is willing to correct it (he is).   Mention that you like the restaurant but you are troubled with the service and the cold food.  You might get comped for free wings or something for next time.

Finally if you are interested in wings, see if you have a Buffalo Wild Wings near you.  I think you will like them better.

  19. No you should not tip and you should request a manager and respectfully complain.  Some waitresses assume that your their for the view and not the food and hence it makes no matter what condition the food is in when it arrives to you. However you pay for it and it should come hot.
