Should I tip the guy how hooks up my cable internet service?

The bill is going to come to about $50.

I just got a new broadband service installed recently and the guy had to go into the attic space of the house to get the cable into the house.  So I tipped him even though the installation charge was paid at 99 Euros.  I regarded it as extra work so I had no problem tipping him.  So unless you are getting some extra work done beyond the normal installation then there is no need to tip.

no never..this is not a tip service...he is paid by the hour...to be polite you may ask him if he would like a drink....would that make you feel better???

Noo, if the bill is really $50 you shouldn't tip him! They earn enough money, don't worry about them!

Generally speaking, no.  The only time I have tipped in a situation like this is if the service person goes above and beyond what is expected to help me in some way.  But for a routine service, no.

I don't think so.  I believe that these people are actually technical support workers, not service people like waiters.   More importantly, I am sure that these people are paid either a salary or an hourly wage by the cable company.  Installation, disconnection, and tech support are part of their service as part of paying your subscription fee. If you wanted to do anything, you might offer them some water or a soda, though.

Unless he is able to give you "free" services do not tip him. J\K  You do not ha ve to tip them. They earn pretty good money way over minimun wage. A lot of these peole are sub-contractors they are self employed who happen to have a contract with the cable company to install services.
