Should I tip the guy towing my disabled car?

I'm an American living in Southeastern Pennsylvania. I pay annually for a towing service. My car is disabled and I have to have it towed to a service station. Should I tip the guy towing my car? If so, how much? Wouldn't the world be a wonderful place if all people were paid enough that tipping wasn't necessary? Sure would lower my stress level.

  1. tip him about 5-6 dollars, I am sure he would be grateful that someone stops to think about him :) Some tip is better than no tip!

  2. h**l no, towies are all as$holes and theyre theives, u know those people who tow ur car from parking lots when uve been parked tere too long, its them! fukem!!

  3. I don't think any tow company expects it, but I'm sure they appreciate it.  Especially if they were nice and extra helpful to you.

  4. no they get a paycheck for what they do. your giving them a tip every payday. thats where the money goes even the years you paid and never used the service.

  5. Try calling an auto repair shop in Pennsylvania. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com/Pen... They can help you get on the right track. Try calling multiple shops and compare what they say.

  6. No.

  7. I don't know on this one - some of the signs I've seen in Philly have tripled their fees in two years re:  getting your car back from having it towed.  Some of the fees would buy a p.o.s. car.

In your case, in my opinion, you have a annual fee already.

On the other hand, right at the moment the disgruntled tow man is about to get back in the truck, and you hand him a folded $10.00 bill, you may make his week.

    Tough call.

  8. dont tip him say

    i got 2 points

  9. no. no need to do that. when u get your car towed he gets some money u pay from the insurance company. its what i heard.
