Question:

Should I trade Tom Brady and Jabar Gaffney for Brian Westbrook?

I want a top RB and others have said Brady will throw less than 40 TDs this year, so his value will drop. Westbrook will play like he did last year, maybe score more TDs. Gaffney would be a good #4 receiver but my receivers are fine.

  1. The real reason to make this trade is if you think Brady will be able to duplicate last year's success. You saw what the Giants did to him. The other 30 teams now have that game film.

If somebody is making that offer, and you have an adequate QB behind, I'd pull the trigger.

If you are REALLY smart, evaluate the backup QB situation and make sure you trade for his current starter if that's going to cripple your QBs losing Brady.

  2. Are you nuts?!?!?!?!  Westbrook had a good year last year, but come on...Brady still has a sweet receiving group, so he is gonna throw a lot of TD's again this year....Unless your league scoring is set up weird, brady will get you WAY more points that westbrook.

  3. if you have no rb, than sure

but you will look like a complete idiot

  4. Even without seeing your RBs I would say NO. If this trade was for a prime time running back without injury problems I would say  go for it, but it's your funeral. Your back up QB better be pretty good and your RBs better be really crappy. To trade a first round QB for a injury prone 2nd round RB is crazy. Though I know you have already made up your mind you just want someone to agree with you. Westbrook could have a great year, but in the last three years Brady hasn't disappointed or been scratched from a start at the last second giving you no chance to replace him.

  5. Depending who you can pick up to fill the QB slot left by trading Brady i would say do it, like one fellow person has said more and more teams are looking to rush the top teir QB's. Don't expect another 50TD season from brady. Westbrook will most likely again have another 1000+ rushing yards, 700 receiving yard 10+TD (more likely near 15+TD) season
