I accepted a trade offer that gives me Fausto Carmona but I have to trade away Ellisbury? Is it worth it or should I keep Ellisbury for the remainder of the season until a better trade comes along? Please let me know - the trade is pending and will appear on my roster in 2 days unless I convince the commisioner to stop it. Please help immediately! Thanks so much!

  1. Keep Ellisbury. His numbers are still viable and hes young, less likely prone to injury.

  2. Ellsbury is in a slump right now but will break out of it and perform close to the beginning of the season. With the indians out of any playoff race they won't want to risk his health for the future. Ellsbury for sure will help you a lot more this year.

  3. maybe not

  4. Ellisbury 2nd in the leauge with steals and Carmona is an avg pitcher

  5. don't do it. fausto plays for the indians, and other than grady sizemore the indians don't have many bright spots. so fausto is pretty much useless especially the fact that he's on the DL. even if the trade is pending, it doesn't mean that it will occur if you don't react. it means that it will just cancel and go away.

  6. It is difficult to answer this question without knowing your team's strengths/weaknesses.  Ellisbury is basically a 2-category player (R and SB).  Carmona will give you good ERA but walks a lot of guys, doesn't strike out too many, and will not win a lot with Cleveland's weak lineup.

  7. I'd say take the trade.  Ellsbury has been underperforming, and Carmona is a very good pitcher...sit him until he has a good game and then don't hesitate to start him again for the rest of the season...

I also answered your question about where to find stats, so check it out.

  8. on paper, this looks like a really bad trade, but if you can effectively replace ellsbury on your roster and really need carmona to add pitching depth then i guess it's not too bad...however, if both of those are not in place then i would say stay away from this trade
