Should I trade my 2007 Pontiac G6 for a 2003 Toyota Corolla Sport?

I always wanted the totyota Corolla Sport but when I went to look for a car (used) there were none available within my price range. So I got a G6. Car runs great, no complaints...but it eats gas like theres no tomorrow. I now have an opportunity to buy a 2003 Corolla sport. Not a real financial concern as the price is equal. Only catch is mileage.

G6 has 44,000

Corolla has 120,000

What should I do?

  1. No. That would be trading down.

Keep in mind that even if it is called the sport, it is still very slow and slower than the Pontiac.

The Pontiac's interior is also much nicer with a newer design and newer technology.

The Pontiac also still has warranty and will have it for another 8-9 years.

  2. You are downgrading dude. Why would you do that? Besides that Corolla has a lot of miles. I understand you want better gas mileage but... nevermind do what you want. Who am I to tell you to do something else?

  3. Price is equal has nothing to do with it. Just because you bought it at 10k, doesnt mean they will give you 10k. You will get about 3k less. First get an offer from the dealer and see how it is. G6 may like gas, but at least it has balls.

  4. You would be stupid to trade.  The G6 is worth a lot more and its got a lot less miles.  Since all cars are designed for 10 years/150k miles the Corolla will die in a few years or at least need lots more repairs.

Who has a goal of owning a Toyota Corolla anyways?  Most people shoot higher than a 6 yr old economy car.
