I have about £7000, and Im thinking of buying a house, but with many costs rising I’ve recently been thinking of going travelling for 6months. I’ve been wanting to go for a long time but not sure what to do. I want to go to Thailand as I’ve heard its very cheap and there’s lots to do in the cities, and the beaches are amazing (so I’ve heard). I would also like to go to Australia and travel up the whole of the east coast, go to cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, the onto the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Cairns etc. Then onto Fiji then onto the USA, possibly going from west to east coast, then back to London.

Does anyone know how much this would cost? Im thinking 1 month in Thailand, 3 months in Australia a couple of weeks in Fiji then 2months in USA. I’m thinking £4000/£5000? Am I accurate or wildly off the scale?

I’ll also be going by myself, people tell me it’s the best way to go travelling as you are forced to talk to others and make friends rather than being content on hanging around wit the friend you go with from home. People have said other travellers are more inclined to talk to you if you are by yourself too. Does anyone have any thoughts o any of this, if so it would really be appreciated! Thanks!

  1. wow! if I had that money I would travel (but that may jsut be me)  It depends how odl you are, I am 22 and would definately take the chance now to see the world rather than miss my opportunity and have to wait 20 years til I have kids that have left home.

As for the cost, you could do it on that money but you'd have to go backpacker style, very cheap accomodations (hostels), very cheap ffood, no nice dinners, not a lot of soouvenirs etc.

    Good Luck, have fun!
