  1. Going to samui is a good idea.  It's fairly sheltered on that side and you certainly won't get the sort of insane monsoon that strikes further north and west. Samui and neighbours normally have a different wet season - usually Oct into Jan.

Koh Samui is a diver's haven. The warm, tropical waters and beautiful coral reefs off the island make it perfect for scuba diving, therefore, finding lesson and rental places on the island is no difficult feat. Walking, biking, and swimming are all popular outdoor activities whether it be beachside or in the jungle. Paths may change depending on the season, check with your hotel or tour group for the best open paths during your stay.

I strongly recommend Muang Samui Spa Resort to a young couple. The location was perfect with all shopping, bars and restaurants at your doorstep, and provided a tranquil and dreamy escape from the day-to-day world. It is also set on a more beautiful stretch of beach. The rooms themselves were large, stylish, clean and had all the special touches. The resort is well maintained, is filled with beautiful greenery, little bridges and a creek running thru it. We found that the staff were always friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were also sensational.

    Have a nice trip!

  2. the weather of Bangkok in September is usually thunderstorm on most days, often resulting in flooded streets but cooler nighttime temperatures. Because Bangkok is flat, you rarely find any place with more than a foot of water, and it usually drains away ... slowly ... in a few hours. By late September and October, the major rivers are high and there is sometimes permanent flooding along the river, sometimes quite deep. But for Koh Samui, the rainfall is normal. So it's fine for you to visit in September. You could refer to the link to find more out.

  3. ot that bad anymore, tho you could bump into some small rainy days.

October is open season again :)

  4. Bangkok get 12 inches of rain during September.  It usually rains in the afternoon (about 4 o'clock for an hour).  I think the rain can be pretty romantic, like sharing an umbrella.  I would go and enjoy.

  5. Well, there will be some pros and cons. Weather wise it's not the best time of year to go - there will be some rain, but you'll get some sunshine too and it won't be cold by western standards.

There are some pluses to going in September though. It'll be quieter and, if you are careful, a bit cheaper, as off-season rates will apply. Fewer tourists around can be a good thing depending on your view of the matter.

  6. why not

where are u staying in Bangkok avoid Nana Street

  7. Well, if you must go! You have to stick with the rain!!!
