Should I travel with traveler's checks or just use my debit card?

I am going on vacation in Las Vegas next week and pondering which method of payment I should use for my hotel room....the hotel bill will be $693, I was thinking of getting the checks because I know hotels authorize more than they need to for possible amenities, and that will "tie up" my money in my checking account.

What's your opinion? Debit Card or Traveler's Checks?

most likely the hotel will require a credit card for checkin, however you can opt to actually pay in cash or travelers checks eve though the checks will probably cost money too,

if you can afford the hold on your debit card then do it, otherwise use a credit card or travekers checks
