Question:

Should I trust my new eye doctor?

I went in for a routine eye check up. I wear contact lenses because my eyes are not that great.

But this time when I went in I had to be seen by a new doctor.

She didn't even ask if I had contacts on, but she checked my eyes anyway, she said "Ohh your eyes are perfect."

But then I had to tell her about my contacts.

When I asked if she could just write me a prescription for my same lens power, she said she wanted to check without them on.

When she checked she said my eyes changed a "tiny bit" and that she had to give me a new lens power. I asked for some glasses too.

When I tried them on today, it felt like the power was too strong.

Is it just me getting used to my glasses/lens power or did my new doctor make a mistake?

  1. Sshe failed her patient completely.  She has a lot to learn before she is ready to take on the responsibility of anybodys vision.  Turn her in to the licensing board.

  2. Try the new ones for a few days and if you aren't happy call the doctor.  Some doctors guarantee the glasses / prescription for a week or so.

Didn't your new doctor do a close exam with a light to check your eye health???  I think a good eye doctor would have checked your eyes and seen you were wearing your contacts.

  3. Not all doctors are great. One of my freinds once had this dentist who put kids who cried to much in a straight jacket so she could clean their teeth (and she would say "pretend the brush is motorcycle on your teeth", and then she got mad when a kid said "why would I want a motorcycle running over my face?")- this sounds a bit far fetched but it's 100% true.

I would get a new doctor. Lord knows where the h**l that doctor went to school , but Im guessing it was next to a Wal-mart...if she didn't attend school at Walmart, anway.

Your doctor made a careless error and shouldn't be trusted.

  4. that all sounds odd.

    i'd get a different doctor.
