I recently joined alibaba.com to see if they are actually legitimate. I did not provide legitimate information and signed up through gmail because I did not feel it was safe. I signed up for an inquiry regarding a sony tv. The tv retails for about $2200 here. I soon noticed that about 90% of the responses I got were scams. However, there was company that listed the price at $1200. I looked at the company at alibaba.com and it says they are a "gold supplier" and "trustpass" authenticated; however, I still do not believe that they are a real company. There company name is called "Xiamen Forward Trading Company." I went on their method of payment and it says to send the money to Western Union which is another red flag. I already have my mind set up that this must be a scam. Unless someone has any clue about this, then I will just move on to actually buying a legitimate tv from best buy or circuit city for a couple hundred more. Atleast I will be guaranteed a full refund.

  1. Don't purchase something like that overseas. If you are able to find a wholesaler that will sell to you, make sure they are in the US so you can look them up with the Better Business Bureau, and state tax office.

At this point, I would just recommend purchasing at Best Buy or something like that. Maybe try going onto ebay and purchasing a gift card for one of those stores at a discounted price to save a little bit of money.
