I'm trying out for my school's CC (cross country) team on Moday and I run pretty much everyday, but I kind of walk.. like I usually walk a mile in 20 minutes.. but I can run a mile in 11 m 40 s. Is that good enough to try out? And what are some tips to get ready for try outs??

  1. try out for the team it wont hurt to try.. alot of teams let anyone join their team.

try to run more milage because in xc practice youy can run up to 6 miles

start by running two miles with out walking and every couple of days add 1/2 a mile to a mile eahctime

also durning your runs add in hills and make parts of you run more up tempo in the middle!

also get a watch & time how long you run your miles in and you can see yourself improving...

i hope this hellps you & good luck in xc! if you practice hard and really want to do it you will do great!

  2. Don't worry about how fast you are. If your team is like all the rest they'll take on anyone. You might not get a varsity spot, but xc is a blast and running is a lifestyle that can keep you healthy all your life!
